Hello all here is a Quick map of the Arrondissements! For you to orientate yourselves, and the proposed schedule for the 4 days.
Tom and I are staying in the Marais (Arrondissement 4) not far from Pompidou
Friday the 25th!
This Friday we will be having a mini pin-up. This means I will be very fast with you tomorrow in regards to checking your progress. Also you are all expected to take part in criticizing your peers in this pin-up. You will also be given new project briefs for the unit trip and the project for the remainder of the year.
In addition to this I will be showing you how to use the Unit Blog. For this I will need to arrange a beamer to take you all through it.
We will start the day at 10:30!

Start time is 10:30!
The tutorials will be approximately 1 hour per group.
There is a staff meeting Tuesday from 1:00 - 2:30pm. So there may be a few time delays in the afternoon.
If you can not attend you must inform both Tom and I via email before 9:30pm Monday evening!

Your individual unit blogs are ready to use and we expect you to use them regularly!
An e-mail with the information to login has been sent to you. It is very easy to use but I will give an intro on Friday to give you some pointers!
Interim Review on Tuesday the 22nd has been Cancled!
Due to an unforeseen UEL degree school staff meeting and a personal appointment that can not be rescheduled on my part. You will be having tutorials Tuesday with Tom. A list of time will be posted soon.

Module Specifications And Attendance!
I do not know what has happened on Friday the 18th! Only half of you decided to show up. I do not count leisurely showing up at 1:00 in the afternoon on a studio day attending either.
All I have realized is that the majority of you lack discipline. This would normally mean I would cancel the unit trip. But instead of that we will no longer have in studio work days for a while. We will have Pin-ups every Friday that I meet with you. This will also have a strict attendance policy 30 minutes late and you will not be seen and you will be viewed as not in attendance.
To help you all with the policies of the school on Attendance and what your time commitments to the course are I have scanned in the pages related to these subjects that are also in the new Program handbook that those that were there on Friday now have. Click on the images above and READ!!!!!!!!!!!
You will see there is a section called student learning time, this is the time you have to put in outside of the studio / tutorial days. It is calculated at 420 hours, on average that is 15 additional hours a week dedicated to the design work. These are minimums!

Computer-aided Manufacturing Workshop @AA...
Today three UEL AVA students took take part in an invited workshop at the Architectural Association on computer-aided manufacturing with AA Dip4 and the EmTech post grad program. This is week long workshop that will cover the use of Laser Cutting, Rapid Prototyping, and CNC milling processes. We hope to set up workshops for diploma unit 9 and degree unit D at UEL AVA that will be given by the 3 students taking part in this weeks workshop. They are Andrew Taylor, Sybil Trgig, and Taesik Seo!
