Tuesday 28th

Dear students,

As you might have heard Jeff is now the proud father of a small boy (Turko jr.) and thus will be somewhat preoccupied for the next twenty years or so... This entails that I'll be conducting Tuesday's tutorials on my lonesome.
We'll start at 11.00 in the Unit space. I'll see you in the following groups of twos:

11.00 - Fara, Nadia
11.30 - Fay, Chin
12.00 - Ananya, Andrew
12.30 - Abraham, Kai

Lunch

14.00 - Jo-Anita, Paris
14.30 - Filip, Taesik
15.00 - Jovian, Charlotte
15.30 - Ade, Sarah
16.00 - Qiu Ce, Billy

The aim with these tutorials is to briefly discuss last weeks crits, and to plan what you need to do over Eastern... So Bring along any new stuff you've produced since the crit, and try to formulate some initial ideas about what you see yourself involved with for during the 'break'...

Till tomorrow,

Tom

Tuesday 21st

Dear students,

We will start tomorrow at 10:30.
Can some one that is living on campus go and book the crit space on the north side of the building? All you need is a few pieces of A4 paper with ‘ Unit D crit, 21-03-06’ on it and that should do. If it can be put up tonight that would be great.

See you tomorrow!

Jeff

TUESDAY THE 14TH

Dear Students

There are 4 weeks remaining in this term. The last 2 weeks of this term I will be on Paternity leave. The next 2 weeks will be very busy and also unpredictable. Busy in the work you will produce and unpredictable on my time availability. My wife could give birth any minute!
In the schedule that was posted on the blog we were slated to have a jury this week. That has been postponed until next week. We will be aiming to have some external critics so let’s take next week very seriously.
This week we will have tutorials, and we expect to see some serious work and progress.
This week we expect to see progress and development on the house / houses in the areas of:

Spatial planning: what space is where and why?
Structural possibilities: how does the thing stand up?
Material placements: how do you determine what is inside and what is out?
Ground treatment: are you, in it, on it, above it? what happens on it? or do you make your own?

All drawings should be at a scale of 1:50
All models should be at a scale of 1:50

We expect to see the first version of the large scale fragment of your house by Friday. This is what is asked of you to develop for your technical studies. This Friday! No exceptions!!!!!

We will also be having batch tutorials this week.
3 students per hour, individual project discussion will be based on the amount of work that you have produced and brought with you to talk about. This means if you will get the amount of time equivalent to the amount of work that you have brought!
