Well the review tables are over but the year is not!

There are a few things that still must be done and a few additional things that you must be informed of.
Since you 2nd years are done i expect that you all take part in this!!!

1. Next week is the RIBA external examiners week. so on Monday we need to tidy up the studio and prepare a display of 1 or 2 second year portfolios for the external examiners.

2. Also next week we must begin the planning and building of the end of year show. Remember this is your show, so make it look good! This does not mean that you 3rd years are off the hook, we will need everyones help to get it done. Construction of the show will start on Saturday the 16th and the showcase opens on Wednesday the 20th. on Friday the 15th there is a big studio cleanup to prepare for the show building too.
Your participation is mandatory!

3. your MARKS, I believe these will be posted on the evening of the end of year show, Wed the 20th.

The final issue is your portfolios.....

In November the School of Architecture is having it's 4 year RIBA accreditation assessment. at this assessment the reviewers will need to see a selection of portfolios form this year along with previous years. Some of you may be asked to allow the school to retain your work for the assessment. after which it will be returned to you.

1. contents page
2. portfolio should be broken into chapters
3. do not forget additional part of the portfolio such as sketch books/ developmental works.

Tomorrow there is a degree school committee meeting that I must attend it will take place at 1:00 and should last at least an hour.

Tutorials will start at 10:30 and there will be 15 minute slots.
since tomorrow is a fractured day and there are a few of you that still do not show up for things like crits and tutorials I then leave it to you to email me back before 6:00pm tonight to ask for a slot of time. It will be a first come first serve system. that means the first person to mail me gets the first time slot, got it!

Next week the plan is to have portfolio checks. This will mean that you will be expected to bring in your entire years work in the format that you intend to submit to the final review tables. So if you have been waiting to print out your work now is the time to do it!!!!! please!!!

Just as I mentioned today in tutorials, you are to meet Michael in the Bar on the 1st floor of the AA. You should be at least 10 minutes early to the time that you have been allotted in order to avoid delays.

For tomorrow you will need the following things when you meet with Michael!

3. Bring the specific drawings that he has asked you to produce from last Wednesday’s tutorials!
4. A 300 word outline of the relations taking place in the design and the technical issues that you intend to pursue!

Just as last week we have arranged tutorials with Michael Hensel.
These tutorials will not take place at UEL! They will be at the Architectural Association School of Architecture!!! (http://www.aaschool.ac.uk/Default.aspx?section=school&page=contact )

We will make the list tomorrow for the technical tutorials with Michael.

By the way I am not happy about the following people missing the tutorials last Wednesday! Jeremy, Taesik, and Ketan!!!! Do not mess around with my invited colleagues! It would be better if you just did not sign up for a tutorial if you have no intention of taking part! This is one of the main factors in why Michael will not come out to UEL to see the unit and why it has been arranged to take place at the AA-school.

Michael has requested that you all must bring the following materials with you;

1. Bring your entire portfolio!
2. Bring photos of all of your models!
3. Bring the specific drawings that he has asked you to produce from last Wednesday’s tutorials!

There are 4 weeks until the final review tables begin! There is no time to waste!!!!

Oh yes, your supporting studies should be completed and handed in. If you are still working on them and not working on your project prepare yourself for working on the unit design work over summer and a September review!

Tomorrow Tuesday the 24th we will be having a Pin-Up!
We would like to begin at 10:30 so do not be late.
This is a pin-up so bring in the appropriate level of work.
Please do not treat this like you did the final review last term!!!!


Also I have rearranged times for tutorials with Michael Hensel. He will be able to see you on Wednesday the 25th.
Since you have no more supporting studies events on Wednesday seeing Michael should be no problem.
Tutorials will be individual and you will only be seen if you are on the list that we will make tomorrow.
